• We need a clear path to onboard someone on the Discord server.
  • Most DAOs start with having very clear values.
  • Typical Discord content:
    • DAO description
    • FAQs
    • Description of the channels
    • Channel for introductions
• When onboarding someone, make sure there is a low barrier to entry.
  • Have a mix of automated bots and a human touch
• Not everything has to be public in the Discord discussions
  • Personal identities can be gated
• When DAOs grow (ex. BanklessDAO), it helps to curate transparency to make it more manageable for members to consume everything that is going on within the DAO.
• It also helps to summarize the Discord discussions in one daily Announcement post.
• The onboarding process should include warnings to educate new members about scams and ways to prevent them.
• Discord will likely be replaced by a new tool in the future.
