- We need a clear path to onboard someone on the Discord server.
- Most DAOs start with having very clear values.
- Typical Discord content:
- DAO description
- FAQs
- Description of the channels
- Channel for introductions
- When onboarding someone, make sure there is a low barrier to entry.
- Have a mix of automated bots and a human touch
- Not everything has to be public in the Discord discussions
- Personal identities can be gated
- When DAOs grow (ex. BanklessDAO), it helps to curate transparency to make it more manageable for members to consume everything that is going on within the DAO.
- It also helps to summarize the Discord discussions in one daily Announcement post.
- The onboarding process should include warnings to educate new members about scams and ways to prevent them.
- Discord will likely be replaced by a new tool in the future.
- Original communication tools:
- Email - AOL
- DAOs - Discord
